Understanding your own environment and the demands of tennis is paramount for us coaches, in knowing why we teach, what to teach and importantly how we teach it. My coaching journey has been about discovering the most effective ways to replicate the practice environment to meet the demands of competition. In my early years as a Pro i found myself teaching hands & feet, now i balance my coaching work with eyes & mind. Focusing more on eyes & mind, and creating higher levels of receiving skills teaches players to make better decisions, be better at problem solving and to encourage players to have a sense of creativity.
We enjoy starting players off and helping each player on their tennis journey regardless of their age and stage. As a coaching team we ensure that our players have respect for themselves, the club & academy and those around them.
With an excellent team of coaches, we are able to offer top quality individual & group tuition all year round at Radyr LTC.
We offer an all year round outdoor tennis coaching service at Radyr LTC. We have assembled some strong performance juniors who regularly compete at county / national events and these players compliment the existing core of home-grown talent at the club.
All juniors on the coaching programme are placed into groups based around their stage of development and then age. We offer a 6 day-week squad programme of junior sessions.
The adult programme at Radyr offers a Rusty rackets session on Wednesday at 7.30pm, cardio tennis on a Saturday 08.45am for 60 minutes, and team-tennis training for adult teams on a Tuesday 7-8pm for Ladies and Thursday 7-8pm for the Men.
